Hi friend!  Last time we were together, you heard the introduction into our summer series on health and wellness.  You heard about a few of the experts I’ve invited on the podcast and whne I tell you they are TOP NOTCH in their field of expertise, that is the truth! I can’t wait to introduce them all to you!  You can listen to that one episode back, number 133 here

Also, to my peeps, if you have left a podcast review, thank you so much! If not, would you do me a favor and leave a review? Sending you virtual hugs right now for that!

This Summer, I am praying for all of us is to have a reset in all areas of our health; mental health, physical health, parenting health, business health, relationship health, and spiritual health. I am so humbled and grateful to the women and men who have given me time to share with us what it looks like to be healthy in all areas. I follow all of these experts on social media…I love them so much! So, I want to encourage you to give them some love and follow them.

Today’s guest is Susan Goss. She is a wife, mom to two adult boys, mother in love, professional marriage and family counselor, speaker, writer, and founder of Tangible Truth Ministries.  Susan is charming, precious, and I may need to follow up with her for a personal counseling sesh, just sayin!  She is gooood, ya’ll

So, here is my conversation with Susan Goss!

SHOW NOTES:

Quotes from the episode:

“I am nothing without Jesus.”

“I ask God to work through me everyday.”

“Jesus was always busy but never hurried.”

“If you are not emotionally healthy you are always hurried because you are trying to please man all the time.”

“When we try to please everyone, it is exhausting.”

“Unless they (my daughters in law) ask me, it’s not in my circle.”

“God, what am I hanging onto fiercely, that I have not released to you?”

“People are not in your circle. God designed it that way.”

“He cares about your heart.”

“Thankfulness is an antidote for bitterness.”

“It’s a natural thing to be anxious.”

“When you are anxious, you will feel it in your body somewhere.”

“When we pay attention to our body, we need to act on that.”

Verses:

1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.”

“Come to me all you are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.”

Tangible tips we can do in order to maintain emotional health:

1.    SLOW DOWN:

Journal at one point every single day.  By writing down one thing will force our brains to refocus on today.  Susan says, “What can I say that I did well, good, or be thankful for?”

2.    Find a way to exercise everyday (physically and mentally)

Our bodies don’t betray us.

3.    Get in the word of God everyday.

After listening to this episode, I wanted to sit and weep after we recorded because I needed to hear this so much.  The best thing?  Susan continually points us back to Jesus in this episode.

I’ll see you next time when I chat with Verona Angol from the UK!  She will be talking about physical health but more importantly how it correlates to spiritual health.  You will love Verona!

Okay that’s gonna do it today!

Remember, we are all friends of a feather so let’s stick together!
