ep. 181: How to Tame the Paper Clutter with Jennifer Booth, Professional Organizer
Jennifer is a professional organizer, wife, & mom. Jennifer’s mission as The Planning Woman is to help others discover real purpose, develop real plans, and delight in real place.
SHOW NOTES:
Disorganization affects your mind.
Cut the Paper clutter!
When you are getting something back on track, we need to do three things.
Priorize : Decide…what are my priorities with paper right now? What do you have the capacity for right now? (Kids at home with school papers.) Eliminate the other that you don’t have capacity for.
Plan : How are you going to deal with those? Get off magazine subscription lists.
“Glory be, let them be in the trash.”
Bins for special papers from our kids or file folders for each grade. Save handprints, take a picture of their art project.
Jennifer gives us permission to throw stuff away! You don’t have to keep everything your kids make!
You need a system for processing.
What Jennifer wished she had 20 years ago.:
HAVE A CONTROL ZONE LANDING SPOT:
Process : Follow through with processing the paper each week.
If you get the paper clutter under control, it activates more energy to do other things!
If you don’t have a plan, you are going to end each day and wonder what you got accomplished.
When you plan, it makes it so much easier to accomplish what God has for you to do in your day.
Planning is key.
Just saying….Oh, Grate Memphis area food service is a great way to supplement the busy moms life!
There’s no shame in getting help with your meal planning.
Everyone can learn to be organized.
Encourage routines with your kiddos.
Teach your kids that they don’t need everything they see at the store. Instill that early. Responsibility with their things.
