Making Decisions with your spouse

Have you ever had to make a big decision? Of course you have. And I’m betting you will have more big decisions in the future as well. That’s just part of life. If you are a Christian, prayer is your go-to strategy when it comes to decision making. IT SHOULD BE!

Can I offer you something else to think about when tough choices have to be made? I learned this from Rainer on episode 107. When she and her husband were trying to decide if adoption was right for them, they sat down together and asked what adoption would look like in their lives and at that moment. They took inventory of the resources (even little details) that God had already placed in their lives that would make adoption possible for their family.

Ummm...mind blown. Why have I never thought of this before?!

For example, their car was big enough; they had great insurance that would accommodate adopting children from China with different medical needs. The list goes on.

Does this not make complete and total sense? When we sit and really focus on our decisions and meditate on how God has provided the necessary tools (or maybe He hasn’t yet), tough choices may not be as difficult to make. We may not always like God’s answer, but His timing is perfect. Pray without ceasing, but don’t forget to count your blessings and focus on how God wants you to use those blessings He provides.
