I was reading a book about how blessed we are in the US to have the freedom to have food in our hands to use in our homes…the land of opportunity.
The book, Think and Grow Rich was first published in 1937 so these prices are different from 2023, LOL.
Here’s the cost of a typical morning breakfast, from that book:
Grapefruit juice - .$.02
Tea (from China)- $.02
Rippled wheat breakfast food (from a Kansas farm) - $.02
Bananas (from South America) - $.025
Toasted bread (from a Kansas farm) - $.01
Fresh country eggs - $.07
Sugar (from Cuba) - $.005
Butter and cream (from New England) - $.03
Total - $.20 (20 CENTS!)
“Why in the world are you talking about grocery store prices, Wren??!! “ Well, for one, it helped change my mindset about food prices…it’s STILL more economical to pick up at the store than to go find all these things where they originated from.
Podcaster, have you thought, “I just don’t know what to do..should I prepare podcast episodes or should I take a break in December?”
Or “Should I take the last two weeks off….okay, maybe, I don’t Know…”
I want to say, yay for already thinking this way, and also … you have an UNMATCHED opportunity!!
An unmatched opportunity to speak into the hearts and minds of your prospects! Why wouldn’t you post a weekly episode in December?
There is a flip side to this, however. If podcasting demolishes your peace during the holidays I want you to retrain your thoughts around it. And also..we need to talk because podcasting SHOULD NOT do that and also you may want to take a couple of weeks off around the holidays, no judgment here.
I want to share some holiday podcasting strategies FOR you to use as you contemplate posting fresh episodes in December. Even if you do not batch your episodes typically, consider recording the month of episodes early… as in November! Batch your content writing, publishing, and producing!
I’ll be honest with you…in order to do this well, you will need to plan for it but that’s nothing you can’t handle! It’s November 20th so you still have time.
And, one last thing I want to encourage you with is this…THANK God for the opportunity to have a podcast and to speak into the microphone each week! What an opportunity WE have!!! Also, pray for God to give you CREATIVE ideas for your December episodes! I love that the Lord is soo creative and He created each one of us so creatively..we need to ask Him for it!
Honor your priorities in order to protect your peace, dear friend.
Cheering you on,
Wren
I succeed when YOU succeed!!!
