It’s episode 84 and my guest is Jen Schmidt. I have been a long time reader of Jen’s blog, Balancing Beauty and Bedlam. I also recently enjoyed reading her book, Just Open the Door about Biblical Hospitality. I knew I had to have her on the show! Jen is a wife, mom to 5, blogger, writer, and speaker; On her blog, she shares all about beauty, home, and finances. She feels that home is a place to embrace both the Beauty and Bedlam or the everyday. I was very inspired from our conversation and enjoyed asking questions about Biblical hospitality.
But, first I want to say thank you to the sponsor of today’s episode! Camp Empower. Camp Empower is therapeutic, trauma-informed day camp designed to serve children with academic, relational, and emotional differences. Their desire is to encourage kids, equip parents, and empower families who struggle with a variety of concerns from anxiety, attachment issues, behavioral and attention struggles, and possibly even trauma. Children enjoy a variety of fun, age-appropriate activities that integrate principles of cognitive developmental therapy with behavioral, emotional, and sensory interventions. The program is driven by the power of the gospel and extensive research, offering a bridge from frustration to hope. Join us in Birmingham, AL June 24-28 or in our new location in Cary, NC July 18-20. Apply now though, as there are only 2 more weeks left for the deadline for Birmingham camp.
