Raising Digital Natives
Prior generations have adapted to technology, but this generation of children will never know what life was like without it. Today’s parents started using phones and laptops in high school, or at the very least, once their brains had been developed a bit. Children today are using it way before then. We have adapted. They are native to the digital age.
And a recent survey reveals that only 14% of children/teens have reported that they have never had a helpful conversation about technology with a trusted adult in their lives.
Tracy’s word of encouragement
Investing in your kids with your time and effort about establishing screen limits may be tough in the short-term. But in the long run, you (as a parent) and your child will enjoy a tremendous payoff. Don’t think that they’re too young… Talk to them before they, too, believe that it’s an awkward situation.
